A common refrain from exasperated leaders today is, “People just don’t want to work!” While the frustration to motivate and retain talent is understandable, the exhortation is wholly wrong. People want desperately to contribute and cultivate their passions at work, to enjoy meaningful connection with their colleagues, and to know they are part of an organization doing purposeful work that aligns with their values.
When people do not encounter this desired experience in the workplace is when “quiet quitting” and the “great resignation” happen. Work is one of the best catalyzers we have to realize our potential. What are we doing as leaders to foster this experience? Guest: Dr. Donte Vaughn
